PSM Consulting, Inc. is an engineering consulting firm founded to address the challenges of both making grid operation safer and more reliable and help making more transparent electricity markets. We supply expert advice and analysis in both the grid as well as the market design and operations.

We are a small group of independent, experienced consultants working under the leadership of the founder of PSM Consulting, Inc.; Dr. Ricardo J. Galarza. We share the beliefs in the goals of PSM Consulting, Inc. and the passion for innovative consulting. We associate with other consultants if a specific Project demands it. Our focus is the grid planning and operation, and the electricity markets, but associate with the following areas of consulting when necessary: Ovehead Transmission Lines, Data Analysis, Computer Science, and Management Consultants.Resumes are available if required.

Dr. Galarza is the President and Principal Consultant of PSM Consulting, Inc. He has over 20 years of experience in Power System Analysis, Operations and the Electricity Markets; having worked with Power Technologies, Inc. (PTI) and the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO); in addition to his current position. He was a Senior Consultant for PTI in the department of Power System Planning and Operations where he performed numerous power system analysis for diverse power systems in the world. As a Senior Analysist in NYISO, he was part of the Market Monitoring and Performance Unit. He designed software to simulate the electricity market of NY, numerous screens to detect market power and the implementation of a Standard Market Design. For PSM Consulting, Inc., he has performed numerous transmission planning studies, including the evaluation of the impact of new apparatus to the grid such as wind farms, solar plants, HVDC lines, and utility-scale batteries. Dr. Galarza has publications in each area of his work and he is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
